Puchar Polski

Well, not much to tell here. I wanted to see a game and there was one on Wednesday which suited me fine. The Polish Cup game was scheduled for 6PM and involved one of the multiple local Krakow sides - KS Zwierzyniecki. Their stadium is quite easy to reach and is located in the same park as Wisla and Cracovia stadiums. So I headed there right after my work. It was a short and quite a pleasant stroll along the Blonia park past the 2 above-mentioned arenas. Finally I saw what appeared to be a nice little stadium nested in a quiet place close to the bridge. It was still middle of Krakow but felt like a million miles away from the bustling central streets. The football pitch is adjacent to tennis courts and the stadium itself has one stand with seats. Wisla stadium is clearly visible and very prominent from anywhere here.
The gate was open and I saw that the game was already underway. I have no clue why but apparently kickoff was shifted to 5PM instead and I entered the stadium right around half-time whistle. I did not know much about hosts. They have a cool crest depicting one of the unofficial symbols of Krakow and they play in red and yellow. And I have never heard about their opponents either.
|There were about 25-30 spectators and most of them were obviously friends and relatives. Quite a few people were with their bikes. One chap had an old Javier Saviola Barcelona shirt on.
The stadium has no scoreboard so I did not know the score. The hosts managed to score early in the second half and I overheard the people saying it was now 1-1. I was unsure if I wanted to see extra-time and penalties but thankfully Proszowianka managed to make it 1-2 close to the end of the game to eliminate Zwierzyniecki from the Cup.
